Research project seeks maternity healthcare providers

A joint project between the University of Newcastle, University of Queensland and University of Technology Sydney is seeking input from health professionals who provide care to pregnant women. The purpose of the study is to explore the experience of women seeking care throughout pregnancy, labour and birthing, and provide an insight into the perspectives of the health professionals providing that care.

Response to Friends of Science in Medicine

An open letter from NHAA president Leah Hechtman:

As some of you are aware, there has been significant media activity pertaining to a group co-founded by Emeritus Professor John Dwyer (UNSW) called ‘Friends of Science in Medicine’ (FSM). The premise behind this organisation, founded in December 2011, is to argue against the inclusion of ‘pseudoscience courses’ in Australian universities and for their removal from Australian health benefits schedules.
