The Australian Journal of Herbal Medicine (AJHM) is Australia's leading herbal publication. A thoroughly modern, peer reviewed and clinically relevant journal, the AJHM can trace its origins back to publications issued by the Association as long ago as the 1930s.

Issued quarterly, the AJHM publishes material on all aspects of western herbal medicine including philosophy, phytochemistry, pharmacology and the clinical application of medicinal plants.

The NHAA is currently seeking to contract an appropriately qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Editor – Australian Journal of Herbal Medicine to deliver a quality academic journal that continues to inform, inspire and educate the profession.

Position Vacant: Health Fund Compliance Officer at the NHAA

Responsible for liaising with and updating compliance requirements as required by the health funds, managing health fund audits, assisting with the negotiation of new health fund contracts, updating and maintaining the Association database with any member insurance, first aid certificate and clinic changes and liaising and assisting members as required, the NHAA is currently seeking an appropriate individual to fill the position of Health Fund Compliance Officer on a part time basis to a maximum of 24 hours per week.

Name change to Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia

We are pleased to announce that we are implementing a subtle but important change to the NHAA.  Over the coming weeks you will see the way we refer to the association, change to the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia. 

Our board has endorsed this change thanks to the overwhelmingly positive member support following our extended consultation process.

Call for Abstracts for the NHAA 2017 Conference

We invite authors to submit abstracts for presentations that align with the event themes of Innovation, Integration and Inspiration and the application of this to chronic health conditions including cancer, cardiovascular health, mental health, diabetes mellitus, asthma, arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions, obesity and dementia. Abstracts must align with one of the following sub-themes:

• Clinical
• Herbal Medicine Manufacture
• Business and Practice Management
• Research
• Education
• Public health and policy 

We are particularly interested in presentations that can provide practical application for herbalists, naturopaths, and health practitioners using herbal medicine

Main Abstract Submission - Key Dates:

• Submissions open: 1 August 2016     Submissions close: 2 September 2016

Late-Breaking Abstract Submission - Key Dates:

• Submissions open: 2 January 2017    Submissions close: 13 January 2017
