In 1990 he was awarded an MSc Honors degree by Macquarie University for his thesis on the extracellular matrix. In the mid-1990's he was a co-inventor in a new lipophillic delivery system for carrying bioactive molecules into the skin which became the basis of his 2nd and 3rd international patents. In the late 1990's he furthered this research into the topical delivery (through the skin) of bioactive molecules for the treatment of Psoriasis. Waynes' research career has been predominantly with the CSIRO and Sydney University.
