Ginger is a very useful herb for the digestive & circulatory systems. Ginger can assist with symptoms of digestive bloating & also serve to help digestion. It can also help to get the circulation going, & may improve circulation to the hands & feet. This cordial is both delicious & refreshing. It may be served with still or sparking water.
Ginger Cordial
2-3 inch root ginger
2 cups sugar
2 tsp tartaric acid
1 tsp citric acid
4 cups water
Peel & slice ginger. add 3 cups boiling water. Boil for 5 mins. Cover & leave to stand 30 mins. Separately dissolve the sugar in 1 cup boiling water. add the tartaric acid, & citric acid. Combine both liquids. Strain & pour into sterilised bottles. Store in fridge. Serve with still or sparkling water. Decorate with a sprig of mint or a slice of lemon.
